CORE GIfMI Seed Funding Program
Kickstart your MRI research with support from CORE GIfMI!
Program Objectives:
- This program aims to promote the use of the CORE GIfMI Facility and stimulate new MRI research.
- It provides support to researchers for acquiring preliminary MR data to support the proposed hypotheses in grant applications by demonstrating feasibility.
- The focus is exclusively on pilot data for grant proposals - not for extending data collection for existing research studies or publishing research results.
What We Offer
- Coverage of scanning costs for new projects by early-career researchers
- Up to 5 scanning hours to gather preliminary data over 12 months
- More hours availabe after detailed motivation
Program Details:
- Submit a single PDF file with your proposal to Prof. Dr. Pim Pullens (pim.pullens@ugent.be) (CORE GIFMI manager), including:
- Applicant details (faculty, department)
- Project title & lay abstract
- A paragraph on the significance and impact
- Specific aims, hypotheses, and methods
Process & Deadlines:
- Rolling submissions accepted
- Decision by the CORE GIFMI board within 3 months
- Awardees must submit a final report within 12 months after the seed funding was granted summarizing collected data, its relevance to the grant application such as grant mechanism and the targeted submission date, and an accomplishment report on the goals and aims.
