Evelien Carrette

Professional bio

Evelien is a Clinical Professor in the field of neurology and neurophysiology at Ghent University (Belgium). She conducts her research activities at the Department of Neurology from Ghent University Hospital where she is policy officer including the research coordination at the Neurology department including the research within the research group 4BRAIN within the department of Head & Skin.

Her main research topics of interest are epilepsy, neuromodulation and electrophysiological techniques like EEG and MEG. 

Her personal and unique expertise lays within the field of MEG in the presurgical evaluation of patients with refractory epilepsy and she is involved in a lot of the neuromodulatory research at 4BRAIN. 

As the research coordinator within the department of Neurology at UZGent, she serves as the direct point of contact for all the expert members of the staff. The staff-members of the Neurology department represent the full spectrum of neurology ranging from stroke to epilepsy, neuro-inflammatory to neuromuscular disease, sleep to cognitive disorders, headache to movement disorders, rare neurological disease, …
